Melissa Kaitlyn Carter is a musician, performer, and creative facilitator based in Brooklyn, NY. She pours her heart into her solo project, Hattie, creating work in honor of her great-grandmother who the project is named after. She's also a member of the dream pop trio, Rosalind. Their captivating work has earned praises from The Wild Honey Pie, and Atwood Magazine, not to mention the support from NYFA (New York Foundation of the Arts).
Melissa has 13 years of teaching experience with students ages 8-18. She has taught privately, and worked as a teaching artist, and in addition to being at the helm of Making Audio Magic, is the Songwriting Program Director with the School of Creative and Performing Arts (SOCAPA), where she works with high school-aged students and teaches Songwriting and Music Production.
“After working with Melissa as one of her students at the School of Creative and Performing Arts in New York City, I reached out to her to help me release my first EP. At our own pace, she began teaching me how to use the Ableton recording software and how to get the best sound at home. What I love most about working with Melissa is that she supports what you want to work on and will provide you with multiple resources to set you up for success. She is so down-to-earth, talented, and knowledgeable in her craft—anyone would be lucky to work with her.”
